How I Launched My VA Business

It all begins with an dream.

It all began with a personal dream. Yes, that sounds cheesy, but it is true. My dream? I want to be able to earn income using my curated skill set from my time as a digital marketer and as a teacher, juggling huge projects and multiple deadlines at once. At the same time, I want more free time for my family and me. I dreamed of a career that would help me achieve the ever-sought-after work-life balance. So, that’s where I am today - going after this dream of mine.

To achieve this dream, I have done a few key things to draw in clients. Starting with on-page search engine optimization (SEO) for my website (click here to see a list of my favorite services to offer to clients). I started with a search for the keywords that would draw customers to my site. Believe it or not, I was able to make my site, find the keywords that would work for my business, create a unique professional social media account, and run a Google Ad campaign all in one afternoon.

I truly pride myself on my work efficiency, but it helped a ton that I have done all this before for clients. So, I wasn’t starting from scratch. Nope! I was using the skills that I have honed over more than 5 years to get started.

Next, I began advertising my business. I mentioned above that I ran a Google Ad campaign. This also wasn’t new for me. As a teacher in my past life, I ran a Google Ad campaign using keywords that I knew would bring hiring teams to my website. In fact, if you searched my full name, my teacher portfolio website was the first search result on Google. The word “teacher” wasn’t even needed to find the site. That, my friends, is the power of a solid Google Ad campaign.

Plus, that site was just a free Google site without a custom favicon or the ability to do much on-page SEO, such as keyword optimizing alt text or meta tags. That site didn’t even have a social media account to help drive traffic to it. With all that said, I am not-so-humbly impressed with my work.

The next step was to set up my professional Instagram account. Instagram makes this remarkably easy by walking you through a clear 8-step process. However, what is not easy is finding followers, deciding what to post, making a social media calendar to improve efficiency, and deciding on the best captions as well as times to post content. I thankfully have done this for many clients, especially as a digital marketer for over 70 franchisees and as a manager for a small digital marketing team with over 20 clients of my own.

The rest of my journey to achieve my dream is still in the works. I’ve made an excellent start for now and would be more than happy to help you get started on your own dream for your business.
